How do I check availability?
To view available dates, simply click here or on any of the “Book Now” buttons on our site. You’ll be redirected to NightsBridge, where you can see real-time availability and make your booking.
What time is check in and check out?
Check-in is from 2pm onwards.
Check-out is by 10am.
How equipped is the kitchen?
As the cabin runs off solar power, there is no oven or microwave. However, the kitchen includes a 2-plate gas stove and a fridge/freezer, and is fully stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay. Please refer to our amenities list for full details.
Bonus: There’s also a wood-fired pizza oven just outside.
What else do you supply?
We’ve got you covered with the essentials and a few extras to make your stay more enjoyable. You’ll find:
- Bedding and bath towels
- Swimming towels
- Cutlery and crockery
- Braai grid and tongs
- Braai wood
- Charcoal, firelighters (blitz), and a lighter
- Toilet paper
- Bluetooth speaker
- Binoculars and a birdwatching book
What should we bring?
To make the most of your stay, we recommend bringing:
- Your own food, drinks, and treats
- Charcoal (we supply braai wood)
- Extra ice
- Swimming kit
- Hiking gear
- Hats and sunscreen

Are you pet-friendly?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Please note that Ashanté is located in a natural environment with wildlife, so pets must be kept under control at all times. Kindly bring your own pet bedding. A pet fee of R250 per stay applies.
Do you offer midweek or long stay discounts?
We offer discounted rates for weekday stays (Monday to Thursday). However, we don’t currently offer additional long-stay discounts.
Do I need a 4x4 to access the retreat?
Are kids allowed?
Babies are welcome, but please bring your own camp cot if needed. Kindly note that due to the layout of the space – especially the elevated deck with an open drop – Ashanté is not suited for young children. Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding.
Is there WiFi / cell reception?
There’s no mobile reception at the cabin, but we do have WiFi at the cabin.
How do I purchase the art in the cabin?
If you’re interested in purchasing any of the artworks, simply reach out to your host. We’ll gladly connect you with the artist to arrange a made-to-order piece.
What is your payment and cancellation policy?
Full payment is required upfront to confirm your booking.
If you need to cancel or transfer your booking:
- 30 days or more before arrival: 50% of the booking total will be forfeited
- 14 days or less before arrival: 100% of the booking total will be forfeited
