Discover some of our local art in and around our cabin. Our Ananda cabin currently boasts a selection of local pieces including, our Jellyfish chandeliers, crochet bedside lamps, Zulu seed canvas art, aloe hemp print & photographic art captured on the farm.
And the best part? Every piece of art on display is available for purchase, allowing you to take a piece of Ashanté and South Africa back home with you.
Fishing
The river below is home to an array of fish species, the Clanwilliam rock / cat fish, the sand fish, Twee river redfin to name a few. Grab your locally crafted hand lines, provided by us, breathe in the fresh air, listen to the gentle flow of the river, and let the stresses of everyday life drift away.
Stand up paddleboard
Explore the Oliefants River on a Stand-Up Paddle board. It’s a great way to explore ‘our pond’, unwind, get some exercise, and connect with nature. Look out for our fish eagles across the river!
Rock climbing
Cederberg is renowned for its unique rock formations, creating a haven for rock climbers. While we don’t have designated official routes, experienced climbers are welcome to bring their gear and explore.

Lose yourself in the celestial wonder of the night sky. With zero light pollution and the nearest town 12km away, our remote location offers the perfect setting for stargazing.
Bird watching
Ashanté is a haven for bird enthusiasts! Our pristine wilderness is home to a diverse array of bird species, from owls and eagles to hawks and so much more. Make use of our birdwatching books to identify & learn about your feathered friends and connect with nature.
Boating
Only a 5 minute drive to the neighbouring Protea farm & Bulshoek dam where you can experience the beauty of the Oliefants Rivier from a different perspective.
Hop in our ‘tinnie’, a 4 seater 25HP motorboat, spot local wildlife, and maybe even catch a glimpse of a shy otter or two. Our boat is available for you to use at your convenience & own risk. Speak to your host or our farm manager to arrange in advance. ** R1000 per day, petrol included.
